Arashi Beach – Located between Malmok and the California Lighthouse

It’s true, not all beaches in Aruba offer great snorkelling however you’ll be pleased to know there are some little hotspots! Take Arashi beach for instance, carry on past Malmok towards the California Lighthouse and you’ll find it. A powder soft sand beach that offers great swimming and snorkelling in calm waters.

This beach doesn’t have any facilities however there are beach huts and palapas offering shade. There is plenty of parking if you’ve hired a car or you can take the bus to the last stop in Malmok and walk on around 10 minutes from there.

Less rocky than Malmok and Boca Catalina, Arashi still has some under water rocks which attracts an abundance of marine life, entry in to the water is easier here too.

The beach is usually quiet and peaceful during the week however it can be busier at weekends when the locals come out to kick back.

Arashi means ‘storm’ in Japanese however I’m unsure how it came to get it’s name as there isn’t any Japanese in the Aruban language!
