Location – Palm Beach, Aruba.

In a nutshell…An up-market, luxurious hotel on a great stretch of beach. Superb staff, lively location.

The Hyatt Regency is the newly renovated resort and Casino on Aruba’s Palm Beach with luxurious surroundings to impress even the most discerning traveller. In my opinion this hotel is deserving of it’s 4 stars and I will tell you below what I loved about my stay here and some things I think could be tweaked…

Lets start with our check-in, we were given champagne and hot towels which was just perfect after a long journey. I mentioned it was my partners birthday during our stay and we were treated to a bottle of wine in our room which was a nice touch.

The grounds of the property have a real tropical feel, the landscape of the gardens and pools is like an oasis. Tumbling waterfalls, hidden jacuzzis, vibrant flowers and greenery, fish ponds, birds, the resident iguanas and even black swans! Beautifully maintained, it houses the pools which then lead on to the beach.

The beach is typical of Aruba, absolutely stunning!

Our package included breakfast which I have to say was plentiful and I thoroughly enjoyed eating outside watching the swans and iguanas.

We stayed in a standard room which was an adequate size for the two of us, decorated in earthy colours and kept spotless (very important for me.) Yes the balcony was tiny however we don’t spend much time in our room so this wasn’t an issue.

The staff deserve a special mention, having stayed in Aruba many times before I can honestly say they are amongst some of the friendliest most attentive people I have encountered.

My partner and I are keen runners, whilst we ran along the beach in the early morning sun most days we also made use of the gym on a couple of occasions. The gym is well appointed and the equipment is up to date.

I did say I feel there could be room for improvement so here it is…

The poor spa, I say poor because the staff and treatments are fantastic, just a shame this isn’t in keeping with the rest of the hotel and feels a little run down. In need of an upgrade I think.

WI-FI – This is a necessity for my partner and I, unfortunately the hotel charge which is annoying since other establishments offer this at no extra cost.

So would we stay here again? The answer is yes if we got a deal at the right price, this resort is quite expensive but worth it if it’s within your price range.
